This episode took us to a whole new world and we certainly weren’t in Kansas any more Toto! It felt like the end of the world, inhabited by a whole different breed of people. Not a great place for fashion watching, although there were some interesting looks going on. Most of them were dragged from the back of the fashion wardrobe though, and some hadn’t seen the light of day for a good few years.
Cook Senior's ageing Mod lockHowever Cook’s dad still managed to pull together a great twisted version of teenage rebellion. My favourite of his was his fabulous sheepskin coat, an item loved by mods and skinheads alike. It’s a tough almost primitive piece of clothing, with echoes back to cavemen in their animal skins. This is no fashionistas blood soaked fur, but a practical use of a byproduct of the meat industry, and it looks good.
JJ's customised rucksack My next favourite item has got to be JJ’s rucksack, with its nostalgic wink back to the old gang. Who doesn’t remember good old Mega Dog and the kicking poor Sid got when he was wearing that t-shirt? It was hand painted for us by EastPac and is one of a kind, no wonder JJ treasures it.
